1215.005.00 LICENSED PROVIDERS

CD11-91/OEC-20 – October 17, 2011

DHSS determines the child care facility’s designation as a Center, Group Home or Family Home.  Licensed providers must contract with DSS for payment of child care services.  The number of children in care and the qualifications of the facility director categorize licensed child care providers, as outlined below:

  1. Center providers care for a minimum of eleven children per day and the director’s/owner’s academic qualifications meet or exceed DHSS requirements,
  2. Group Home providers care for eleven to twenty children per day and the director’s/owner’s qualifications do not meet the level required for center classification, and
  3. Family Home providers care for five to ten children per day and the director’s/owner’s qualifications are minimal based on DHSS standards.
