2010.010.00 RELATIONSHIP OF THE APPLICANT TO THE CHILD

To be eligible to receive Child Care Subsidy, the person making application must be:

  • A biological, adoptive, or resource parent;
  • A specified relative (as defined in the Temporary Assistance Manual at 0205.025.00 Relations Of Payee To Child);
  • The legal guardian of the child(ren) for whom Child Care Subsidy is requested.

Determine the applicant’s relationship to the child by viewing verification that establishes the relationship. Examples of verification include, but are not limited to:

  • birth certificates;
  • the IBTH screen;
  • court orders; or
  • other relationship documentation (hospital records, family Bible documentation, or third-party verification).

The household’s statement of relationship may be an accepted source of verification when no other source of verification is available. A comment must be entered in the eligibility system to explain why the household’s statement is being used to establish relationship.
