2025.020.00  NON-PAYMENT OF SLIDING FEE

An eligibility unit may have a Child Care Subsidy application rejected or active case closed if the eligibility unit does not pay the sliding fee to the child care provider.

If a child care provider reports that a household failed to pay the sliding fee amount, verify the amount owed to the child care provider is the sliding fee amount, as opposed to a co-payment. If the eligibility unit pays or signs an agreement with the child care provider to pay the sliding fee amount, obtain documentation of the payment or agreement and consider the eligibility unit eligible. The child care provider has 60 days from the month of service care is provided to report the eligibility unit did not pay the sliding fee. It is also the responsibility of the child care provider to provide documentation the eligibility unit did not make payment on the sliding fee.
