2025.025.00  EARLY HEAD START AND HEAD START CHILD CARE SUBSIDY PARTICIPATION

An Early Head Start (EHS) or Head Start (HS) program may be paid for providing child care during non-core hours for an eligible child attending the program. Non-core hours are hours of direct care services which are not paid for by other funding. EHS or HS programs cannot charge its core hours to the Child Care Subsidy program. Core hours are hours of direct care services paid for by other funding.

If necessary, staff may consult with Early Childhood and Prevention Services Section (ECPSS) to determine an EHS or HS program’s core hours.
