1210.020.15.50 Continuity of Care

CD13-16/OEC13-01 March 11, 2013

Participants enrolled in eligible programs (i.e., high school, college, employment, job training, job skills training, and work experience) may continue to have their child(ren) authorized for child care during normally scheduled  breaks, such as winter and spring breaks for an educational institution or a holiday shut-down for a manufacturing facility.  The participant must provide documentation from the school, college, sponsoring agency, or employer indicating the participant will continue with the educational program, employment, or training immediately following the break.

Participants demonstrating a temporary change in need for care (i.e., vacation, medical leave, or maternity/paternity leave) may continue to have their child(ren) authorized for child care during the temporary change in need. The participant must provide documentation from a physician, employer, or other authoritative individual indicating the participant will continue the educational program, employment, or training immediately following the temporary absence

In either of these situations, if the child does not attend child care during the break, the regular absence policy applies

Documentation provided to support the continuation of child care during the situations described above must comply with 1210.010.020.15.05 VERIFICATION OF NEED, 1210.020.15.10 VERIFICATION OF EMPLOYMENT, and 1210.020.15.15 VERIFICATION OF EDUCATION OR TRAINING.
