Participants who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Supplemental Aid to the Blind (SAB) are not included in the Temporary Assistance (TA) determination. SAB participants may be the payee only on a TA case. The individual may elect to receive TA rather than SAB if s/he meets all TA eligibility requirements. However, receiving SAB is usually more advantageous than TA.
