IM-137  11/06/02  TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE PARTICIPANTS ELIGIBLE
FOR CASH FOR ONE MONTH ONLY

SUBJECT:
TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE PARTICIPANTS ELIGIBLE FOR CASH FOR ONE MONTH ONLY
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to clarify the procedure to follow when an applicant is eligible for cash for one month only.  The following forms are necessary when this situation occurs.
  • APPROVAL NOTICE (IM-32MAF)
When a cash case is approved an IM-32MAF is always sent to notify the participant of:
    • The approval of Temporary Assistance,
    • Regular monthly cash benefits,
    • Whether benefits will be delivered via EBT or DD,
    • Persons not eligible for Temporary Assistance and the reason they were not eligible.
This form is used for approvals, not closings.  Staff should not use this form to notify the participant that they will receive one month of benefit and then the cash case will close.
  • WAIVER OF 10-DAY ADVANCE NOTICE (IM-80A)
If the participant waives their 10-day notice and understands that he/she is not eligible past the one month, the adverse action may be taken when the form is signed.
  • NOTICE OF ADVERSE ACTION (IM-80)
This form is sent when the applicant is only eligible for one month and an IM-80A is not signed.  Due to the 10-10-10 policy no claim is processed for the month of ineligibility.
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
  • Effective immediately, use the IM-32MAF to inform participants that they are eligible.
  • Effective immediately, use the IM-80 or the IM-80A to inform the participant of an adverse action.
