EXPEDITED FOOD STAMP CASES WITH POSTPONED VERIFICATION CONVERTED TO FAMIS
DISCUSSION:
Expedited food stamp cases with postponed verification are placed in the controlled flow when converted to FAMIS.  As for any case/application in the controlled flow, workers must have the case record or the client on the phone at the time of completion of the controlled flow. 

When completing the controlled flow, remove the verification code for any outstanding verification existing at that time.  Do not leave the conversion code as verification for any eligibility factor that has not been verified.  When the conversion code remains as verification, FAMIS sees all verification is provided and issues benefits when, in fact, the eligibility unit is not eligible for benefits until the postponed verification is provided.
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with all necessary staff.
  • Implement these procedures immediately.
