GUARDIAN CODES LISTED ON THE IMU5 CODESHEET
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to repeat the statement made in memorandum IM-6 dated 01/17/02 listing the new Grandparents As Foster Parents (GAFP) codes. 

These codes are only to be used on GAFP cases:

Field 13F - Unrelated Guardian (The following GAFP codes have been added) 

G - Grandparent under 50-has training, has custody 
A - Grandparent under 50-has not has training, does not have custody 
B - Grandparent under 50-has had training, does not have custody 
C - Grandparent under 50-has not had training, has custody 
F - Grandparent over 50-has training, has custody 
D - Grandparent over 50-has not had training, does not have custody 
E - Grandparent over 50-refuses training, has custody 
H - Grandparent over 50-refuses training, does not have custody 
I - Grandparent over 50-has training, does not have custody 
J - Grandparent over 50-has not has training, has custody 
K - Other relative over 50-has training, has custody 
L - Other relative over 50-has training, does not have custody 
M - Other relative over 50-has not had training, has custody 
Q - Other relative over 50-has not had training, does not have custody
These codes are not to be used on unrelated guardian or Non-Parent Caretaker Relative cases.
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
  • Make pen and ink changes to the IMU5 Code Sheet designating these codes are used for GAFP only.
  • Discontinue using these codes on any other guardian cases except GAFP immediately.
