IM-86  07/10/02  FAMIS SCREEN CHANGES AND BACKOUT PLAN

SUBJECT:
FAMIS SCREEN CHANGES AND BACKOUT PLAN

DISCUSSION:
Effective July 22, 2002, all entries, updates and inquiries of Child Care family eligibility changes in certain screens, due to Food Stamp implementation in FAMIS, will appear when processing Child Care only cases.  The revised screens were introduced in Memorandum IM-#82, dated July 3, 2002.

Between Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23, 2002, all county offices must make copies (screen prints) of all Child Care eligibility transactions and child authorizations, and store them in a daily transaction file.

These copies must be maintained in an easily accessible location for all staff processing Child Care applications.  This file establishes readily available back-up files for each county office, in the event of a system error or shut down.

As it is necessary to maintain accurate records of transactions, we are asking county administrators to set up procedures in their offices to ensure that all appropriate transactions are copied from Monday, July 22 through Tuesday, July 23, 2002.

FAMIS will send out a broadcast message to inform staff of the progress with the revised screens in production.

REQUIRED ACTION FOR ALL COUNTY OFFICES AS OF JULY 22, 2002

Enter all new and renewing Child Care applications into FAMIS.

Authorize eligible children to valid providers.

Make screen prints of all successful entry and update transactions for every eligibility unit and each child authorization entered between Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23, 2002.

NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
  • Establish procedures for Child Care daily transaction files.
  • Ensure that staff follows future procedures from FAMIS via on-screen broadcast messages.
