DISCUSSION:
The allowance provided by Veterans Administration to children (including adult children) who were born to a female Vietnam veteran with the congenital defect spina bifida has been added to the income exclusions for Medicaid/MC+ cases.

The above referenced Intranet manual pages have been revised to reflect this exclusion.

Section 0905.010.45.55 Income Excluded (MAF) has been added to the Family Healthcare Manual to clarify the differences between Temporary Assistance and MAF/MC+.  For example, interest income is not excluded when determining eligibility for MAF as well as all other MC+/Medicaid eligibility, but is excluded for Temporary Assistance.
