SUBJECT:

FAMIS DISABLED (FMMX) SCREEN

DISCUSSION:

With the implementation of Temporary Assistance in FAMIS, changes are made to the Disabled (FMMX) screen. Effective November 8, 2004, new disability reason codes are added to accommodate Temporary Assistance Policy.

The new codes added are as follows:

Code	Description
CNV	Converted Disability
ESD	Employer Sponsored Disability Insurance
MRT	MRT – TA Disabled Person
NEE	Needed in the Home to Care for Disabled Indiv
PDD	Pending Disability (SSI, OASDI or Emp Spons)
PMR	MRT – Pending
PTD	MA Hearing Decision – PTD
SSD	Receives Social Security Disability
TAD	Hearing Decision – TA Disabled Parent
TMP	Temporarily Disabled

Not all the new codes are applicable to the Food Stamp Policy definition of disabled. Likewise, not all the current codes are applicable to the Temporary Assistance Policy definition of disabled. The attached Disability Code chart pdf file identifies each disability reason and whether the code applies to food stamps and/or Temporary Assistance.
