DISCUSSION:
The above listed forms are revised. Forms IM-31B and IM-31F (English and Spanish) each includes additional statements to inform the EU of the following:
- providing the race/sex of an individual is optional and voluntary and does not affect his/her eligibility for food stamps;
- failure to report or verify any expense that can be used as a deduction for food stamp eligibility will be seen as a statement by the EU that s/he does not want to receive the deduction;
- better clarifies the statement that providing the Social Security Number for an EU member is voluntary.
Form IM-31C, Instructions for Making Your Food Stamp Application with instructions, is revised. The Forms section has been re-formatted for easier reading and applicants are asked to complete all the questions on the application.
