GRANT INCREASES AND ADJUSTMENTS IN SAB & BP CASES

DISCUSSION:
During the weekend of June 17, 2006, the Information Technology Systems Division and the Family Support Division will adjust Supplemental Aid to the Blind and Blind Pension cases based on changes effective July 1, 2006.
Supplemental Aid to the Blind and Blind Pension Adjustments
Effective July 1, 2006, the maximum cash grant for Supplemental Aid to the Blind and Blind Pension is increased to $541.00.
Use the new maximum of $541.00 for all SAB and BP IMU5 transactions beginning June 17, 2006, effective for July 2006 and later. Make any payment for June or previous months as a retroactive payment.
A listing, “Cases Adjusted”, will be sent to the county offices following the mass adjustment. Use this listing for informational purposes.
A listing, “Cases Not Adjusted”, will note AB cases with an old Expense amount in Field 33 (EXP/EIL) other than $541.00.
Take immediate action to review these cases and adjust as necessary.
No IM-5 turnaround forms will be produced for these adjustments.
A letter will be mailed to BP and SAB recipients informing them that the maximum grant will increase July 1, 2006. (Copy attached ).
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
- Take the necessary actions on the listings mailed from State Office for these adjustments.
- Effective July 2006 use the new grant amount noted in this memorandum.
- File revised manual pages in the Forms Manual.
