SUBJECT: | INCREASE IN AVERAGE PRIVATE PAY NURSING RATE FOR TRANSFER OF PROPERTY CASES MANUAL REVISION #11: DEC 73 REQUIREMENTS SECTION 1040.020.40 DETERMINING THE PENALTY PERIOD |
DISCUSSION:
There has been a change in the method used for determining the average private pay nursing care rate used to determine the number of months of ineligibility for vendor level services. The Family Support Division (FSD) is utilizing the most current data records provided to the MO HealthNet Division (MHD) by nursing facilities across the state regarding private pay rates to determine the average rate. The new method ensures that the most current information known regarding private pay rates in the State of Missouri is utilized for determining the changing costs associated with nursing care.
The average private pay nursing care rate is increased from $2,943 to $3,815. Use $3,815 to determine the number of months of ineligibility for vendor level services for applications taken on or after January 1, 2008.
The Average Private Pay rate in the on-line manual, DEC 73 REQUIREMENTS, Section 1040.020.40 Determining the Penalty Period, is updated with the January 1, 2008 rate.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Discuss this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Use $3,815 as the average private pay rate effective for applications taken on or after January 1, 2008.
