DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION
P.O. BOX 2320
JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI

TO: ALL COUNTY OFFICES
FROM: JANEL R. LUCK, DIRECTOR
SUBJECT: EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND MASS CARE OVERVIEW TAKE 45

DISCUSSION:

A Take 45 on Emergency Management and Mass Care requirements for the Family Support Division is now available on the FSD intranet. This Take 45 has been developed as an introduction for front line eligibility specialists and clerical staff to the emergency management process and the Division's role in community mass care.

The Take 45 exercises, handouts, and training tools may be accessed through the FSD Training and Development Intranet page.

Supervisors are familiar with the Take 45 concept. Take 45s are a tool which provide Family Support eligibility supervisors with an outline to use in training staff on a particular subject. Supervisors are to present this Take 45 to all eligibility specialists and FSD clerical staff. Once the meeting has been completed staff will need to access and complete the on line assessment for the Take 45 in the Employee Learning Center.

Completion of the on line assessment allows the Employee Learning Center to show individuals have participated in this Emergency Management and Mass Care Take 45. The employee's Training Record in the Employee Learning Center has been updated to show all Family Support eligibility supervisors, eligibility specialists and FSD clerical staff as enrolled in the course. The course code for this session is FS000071. Access the assessment by clicking the Select button to the left of the Course Status.

Staff in other job classifications (county manager, CD clerical, etc.) may also participate in the Take 45. The on line assessment is accessed by first registering for the course FSD Mass Care Overview Take 45 (course code FS000071) through the Employee Learning Center.

This Take 45 and assessment should be completed no later than June 28, 2008.
