TO: | ALL COUNTY OFFICES |
FROM: | JANEL R. LUCK, DIRECTOR |
SUBJECT: | VOTER REGISTRATION CARDS |
DISCUSSION:
County offices must maintain at least a two month supply of voter registration cards at all times. Re-order voter registration cards when the county supply has gotten down to a two month supply by following normal ordering procedures. It is the responsibility of the local National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) coordinator to monitor the county has an ample number of forms.
If for any reason, a county office runs out of voter registration cards and the warehouse cannot immediately send voter registration cards, contact the state NVRA coordinator, Robert.J.Hall@dss.mo.gov, immediately.
To ensure compliance with the NVRA, county staff must continue to offer the opportunity to register to vote by taking the following action:
- print the Voter Registration Questions available on the FSD Intranet home page, on the upper right side;
- click on the link to the Secretary of State's website, voter registration form (http://s1.sos.mo.gov/cmsimages/elections/register2vote/), select the county of residence, click continue, then print page 1; and
- write “Code 02” on the voter registration form in the middle on the right, just above the boxes.
Follow normal NVRA procedures established in the local offices after the applicant either completes the voter registration application, or declines to register to vote by completing Voter Registration Questions.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Maintain at least a two-month supply of voter registration cards in the county offices at all times.
- Re-order voter registration cards when the county supply is down to a two-month supply.
