- FAMILY MO HEALTHNET PRIOR QUARTER DETERMINATION
DISCUSSION:
The Jefferson City, Union, and Joplin Processing Centers will process all Family MO HealthNet applications received January 1, 2014 and after in the Missouri Eligibility Determination Enrollment System (MEDES) to determine eligibility for benefits.
Missouri received a waiver from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) which allows all prior quarter Family MO HealthNet eligibility beginning with applications made January 1, 2014 to be determined using Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) methodologies. This includes prior quarter months of October, November, and December 2013.
Example: An application received in January 2014 requests prior quarter coverage. The eligibility specialist must determine prior quarter eligibility for the months of October, November, and December 2013 in MEDES. MEDES will determine eligibility for the prior quarter months and the month of application and ongoing.
