CHANGE IN INTERPRETER SERVICES PROVIDER

DISCUSSION:

The purpose of this memorandum is to introduce the new interpreter service. Effective May 1, 2013, Language Select is no longer the contractor for interpretive services and the 1-800 number provided by their company will no longer be in service.

AVAZA Language Services Corp. (AVAZA) is the new contractor. AVAZA provides over the phone interpretive services like those previously provided by Language Select., AVAZA does not utilize an interactive voice response system.

A "How To" Guide and printable Poster can be found in the Quick Links section on the right hand column of the Family Support Division Main Page.

Attached is an "IM User Card" that describes how to utilize AVAZA Language Services Corp. interpretive services. This can be printed and hung in interview rooms and/or offices. The IM User Card can also be found under the Quick Links section on the right hand column of the Family Support Division Main Page.

To access AVAZA Language Services Corp:

  1. dial 1-800-482-8292;
  2. provide the representative with the language you require
  3. provide your access code [480064 for IM staff; 480061 for CSE staff],
  4. provide your  location (location is the Family Support Division office where you are located); and
  5. provide your worker number.

Once this information is provided, you will be connected to an interpreter.

EXAMPLE: Molly Sands calls AVAZA Language Services Corp. and tells the representative she needs a Spanish speaking interpreter for 480064 and that she is based in Cole County with a worker number of 12345.
