- SUBJECT:
- LOCAL REQUESTS FOR SUPPORT/REFERENCE LETTERS IN COMPLIANCE WITH ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY 4-102
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to outline a consistent process for FSD to respond to requests for Support Letters that may commit FSD funds and/or personnel resources. Generally, Letters of Support are requested by a community agency or entity to offer FSD's willingness to support a grant application, local program or other projects.
Effective immediately, all Support Letter requests should be reviewed by the local FSD Manager. If the local Manager believes the request to be within the scope and vision of FSD, they should forward the request along with a draft Support Letter response to their Regional Administrator/Manager. If the Regional Administrator/Manager agrees with the local Manager, the request and Support Letter draft should be forwarded to the program Deputy Director via email to FSD.CRU@dss.mo.gov.
The Regional Administrator/Manager should forward the request providing at least five business days for a response from the program Deputy Director. The Deputy Director will review and sign the Support Letter. The Support Letter will then be electronically uploaded by central office staff in the central SharePoint site named "Critical Analysis & Planning. Instructions to access this SharePoint site are attached.
FSD staff is expected to comply with Departmental policies found in the DSS Administrative Policy relating to all Contracts, Agreements, MOU/MOA or any other agreement that would financially or programmatically bind FSD.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact Debra Black, Deputy Director Designated Principal Assistant.
