DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information regarding recently awarded language interpretation contracts.
- The contract numbers for in person and written Verbal Language Interpretation Services are C315144001 through C315144011.
- The contract numbers for Sign Language Interpretation Services are C315135001 through C315135012.
These contracts are to be used for in person (face to face) language interpretation or written language interpretation (verification provided in a different language).
All requests should go through the appropriate supervisory channels. Each office is locally responsible for paying for any in person or written translations.
Staff must choose the lowest–priced vendor based on the language interpretation needed, situation, anticipated time, and the county where the interpreter is needed. Staff are no longer required to obtain price quotes from three contractors. The lowest cost vendor can be determined by reviewing the pricing pages of the contract.

- Available documents are listed on this page. Go to “Contract Document” and choose either the MS Word Format or PDF Format to view.
NOTE: There is no change to the over the phone interpreter service provider. Refer to IM-#66 dated July 1, 2015 for instructions on how to utilize this service.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Obtain contract information for written, in person verbal or sign language interpretation services on the OA website.
- Continue using WorldWide Interpreters for over-the-phone interpreter services.
