IM-#14 2/10/16

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION
PO BOX 2320
JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI
TO:
ALL FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION OFFICES
FROM:
JULIE GIBSON, DIRECTOR
SUBJECT:
ADDING DAILY OR MONTHLY WORK/TRAINING HOURS FOR ABLE BODIED ADULTS WITHOUT DEPENDENTS (ABAWD)

DISCUSSION:

The purpose of this memo is to introduce two additional screens in FAMIS to help with tracking work/training hours for ABAWDs.  The two additional screens will calculate work/training hours for ABAWDs.  The DAILY WORK/TRAINING HOURS (FMJW) will allow entry of daily hours.  The DAILY WORK/TRAINING HOURS (FMJW) can be accessed from the WORKREQ (FMMR) screen by pressing F6 key.  This screen should be used when the number of hours each day vary and cannot be projected.

Example:

From the WORKREQ (FMMR) screen, in maintenance mode, press the F6 Key-DAILYHRS to enter work or training hours.

The DAILY ABAWD WORK & TRAINING HOURS (FMJW) screen will display.
The total hours show work and training hours combined.  The total for each work and training are displayed towards the bottom right of the screen.

The MONTHLY ABAWD WORK & TRAINING HOURS screen will allow entry of work or training hours that are expected to continue for an extended period of time.

Example:

From the WORKREQ (FMMR) screen, in maintenance mode, press the F6 Key-DAILYHRS to enter work or training hours

The DAILY WORK/TRAINING HOURS screen will display.  From the Daily ABWAD Work & Training Hours (FMJW) screen press F6-Montly Hours to enter work or training hours that are expected to last longer than one month.

Add hours of work and/or training that are expected to last longer than a month.

NOTE:  Refer to the ADDING AND UPDATING TRAINING/WORK REQUIREMENTS user guide for specifics for adding and updating training and or work hours.

If an FS-5 is received in any county other than Howell County, please send the FS-5 to ABAWD1@ip.sp.mo.gov

In addition, to the above changes, the regain eligibility question on the WORKREQ (FMMR) screen will not be available until 3 non-work months have been received by the ABAWD.  The question “consecutive months of eligibility after loss of employment when client has regained eligibility/work requirement codes” is the regain eligibility question.
