Federal statute, 42 U.S.C. 1396a(10)(A)(i)(VIII) and Federal regulation 42 CFR ยง435.119 outline the requirements for states who choose to expand Medicaid.
On August 4, 2020, voters in Missouri approved the creation of a state constitutional amendment (Article IV, Section 36(c)) to allow for the expansion of Medicaid eligibility to include adults, aged 19 to 64, effective July 1, 2021.
