CHIP children are divided into five eligibility groups according to household income based on MAGI Methodology (see 1805.030.00 Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) Methodology):
CHIP 71 and CHIP 72-Non-Premium Group
Gross income above non-CHIP maximum of 148%, and up to and including 150% FPL
*Effective November 22, 2020, children are no longer assigned to this eligibility group.
CHIP 4M-Non-Premium Group (Effective July 1, 2022)
- Children ages 1 through 5, gross income of 148% up to and including 153% FPL.
- Children ages 6 through 18, gross income of 110% up to and including 153% FPL
CHIP 73-Reduced Premium Group
Gross income above 150% and at or below 185% FPL
CHIP 74-Reduced Premium Group
Gross income above 185% and at or below 225% FPL
CHIP 75-Full Premium Group
Gross income over 225% and at or below 300% FPL
