This chapter discusses topics involving working with parents whose children have been removed from their custody. It is important that the parent be engaged early in the process and become involved in their case. See Section 1 of this manual for more information on the Missouri Practice Model and family engagement. This chapter also discusses assessment, ongoing work, preparing parents for the child’s return and termination of parental rights.
