Postpartum coverage for mothers who were denied for Medicaid for Pregnant Women (MPW) due to excessive income only and are eligible for Show Me Healthy Babies (SMHB), ME 95, will begin on the day the pregnancy ends, and continue through the last day of the month in which the 12th month ends. An ex parte review must be completed at the conclusion of the postpartum period.
For all mothers who were denied MPW due to citizenship, postpartum coverage will be limited and SMHB will end the day following discharge from the hospital after the birth of their child.
Participants in the SMHB program must meet eligibility guidelines for MO HealthNet for Families (MHF), the Adult Expansion Group (AEG), or Uninsured Women’s Healthcare Services (UWHS) to receive coverage systematically after the completion of their postpartum period.
