1120.000.00 Application Process

1120.025.10 Disqualified Authorized Representative

IM-02 January 12, 2023; IM-27 March 19, 2004

When the worker adds an authorized representative, FAMIS checks for active disqualifications. If the authorized representative is currently disqualified, as seen on the Sanction/Disqualification screen (FMAM), the Representative Detail screen (FMJG) displays the message “BB61R_BE: DQ Exists. Fraud Exception Required.”

If a disqualified authorized representative is making application on behalf of the household, attempt to call the household and notify them of the disqualification. The household needs to decide whether they wish to continue with the currently designated authorized representative, designate a new authorized representative, or complete the application themselves.

Continue as follows:

  • Do not complete the application until you have heard from the household.
    • If the household cannot be reached:
      • Stop the application.
      • Contact the household in writing.
  • If the household has no one else to appoint as the authorized representative and wishes for the application to continue:
    • Enter the Fraud Exception.
    • Complete the application with selected authorized representative.
  • If the household wishes to designate someone else as authorized representative:
    • Stop the application.
    • Do not finish until the household decides to complete the application themselves, or the new authorized representative is available.
  • If the household wishes to complete the application without an authorized representative complete the application.
