IM-65 July 12, 2023; IM-142 December 2, 2005
Closed or terminated claims may be reinstated when:
- the household, or a member of the household, reapplies and is found eligible for SNAP benefits
- circumstances have changed for the household, making collection possible
- the case can be certified for TOP, or
- the household agrees to make payment
Notify the SNAP Program and Policy Unit if a claim meets the criteria to be reinstated. The claim will be reviewed and appropriate action taken. If the claim is reinstated and household is receiving SNAP benefits, recoupment is initiated. If a repayment agreement is entered, a billing statement is generated.
