Nondiscrimination Statement
Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, 42 U.S.C. 18116, prohibits the discrimination on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability when an Executive agency, or by any entity established, under Title I of such law, is administering any health program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Part of the requirements and enforcement of prohibiting discrimination is informing participants of their rights at the time of application and renewal.
Participants will be notified of their rights when applying for MO HealthNet (MHN) and renewing their eligibility for MHN. The Nondiscrimination Notice (IM-4 MHND) for MHN is located in the Forms Manual.
Limited English Proficiency – Multi Language Interpreter Services
Federal Requirements, 45 CFR 92.101 – 92.105, requires any entity operating or administering a health program or activity to ensure meaningful access to such programs or activities by limited English proficient (LEP) individuals or individuals with disabilities. This includes:
- Language Assistance Services
- Oral Language Assistance Services
- Written Translation Services
- Provide information regarding LEP services with each contact
- Provide information regarding auxiliary services with each contact
Participants will be notified of LEP services and auxiliary services when contact is made regarding MHN programs and services. The Multi-Language Interpreter Services (IM-4 MLIS) is located in the Forms Manual.
