MO HealthNet for the Aged, Blind, and Disabled (MHABD) is the only program that requires MHABD applicants and participants to allow the electronic verification of their assets as a condition of eligibility. If the authorization is revoked by an applicant or recipient, that individual is not eligible for MHABD coverage. This requirement applies to all MHABD program participants per federal law 42 U.S.C. § 1396w. The authorization language is included within the “Rights and Responsibilities” section of the MHABD Application and on the annual renewal form. The required authorization is obtained when the application or renewal form is signed by the participant, the participant’s spouse on behalf of the participant, or an authorized representative.
