The SLMB1 program became effective in Missouri on January 1, 1993 and SLMB2 became effective in Missouri on January 1, 1998.
The purpose of these programs is to assist participants by paying their Medicare Part B premiums.
Enrollment in SLMB1 is automatic for eligible MO HealthNet (MHN) participants. A participant may choose to close SLMB1 coverage.
Enrollment in SLMB2 is optional. SLMB2 participants cannot receive MHN under any other type of assistance.
