DISCUSSION:
Effective 10/1/2002, the food stamp resource limit for households with a member meeting the definition of disabled is increased to $3,000.  This is consistent with the limit for households with an elderly member.

No programming changes are required for Legacy.  FAMIS programming is updated to use the correct resource limit for October and later eligibility determinations.

The online Food Stamp Manual is revised.
 
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Discuss this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
  • Apply the new resource limit for eligibility determinations done after September 30, 2002.
