NEW IMMIGRANT STATUS CODES
DISCUSSION:
Effective July 28, 2003, two new immigrant status codes are added to the Non-Citizen Information screen (FMML).  These codes support current immigrant policy. 
  • The code CON (Granted conditional entry) is added for those qualified immigrants who were granted conditional entry under 203(a)(7) in effect prior to 4/1/80. 
  • The code PAR (paroled) is added for those qualified immigrants who were paroled under section 212(d)(5) of the INA for at least one year. 
These immigrants must still meet one of the eligible criteria to be eligible for food stamp benefits.
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
