MEMORANDUM
2004 Memorandums
IM-104     10/01/04
SUBJECT:
FAMIS TRANSFER POLICY
DISCUSSION:

The purpose of this memorandum is to clarify the transfer policy regarding FAMIS cases. If an eligibility unit (EU) notifies the residential county that they have moved to another county, take the following action:

  • Send the request to transfer to the county email address along with name, DCN, and address of the participant.
  • The participant does not have to contact the receiving county. The receiving county needs only to verify the address provided is a valid address within their county.
  • Authorize the transfer.

If the EU notifies the new county they have moved to another county, take the following action:

  • Verify the address provided is a valid address within the new county.
  • Send the request for and authorization to transfer to the county email address of the previous county along with name, DCN, and address of the participant.

When the FAMIS case is transferred, locate the paper file and send the entire case file to the new county. If the EU is receiving Income Maintenance benefits, but is no longer receiving benefits in FAMIS, it is important to still transfer the FAMIS cases.

NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
