SUBJECT:
NEW FAMIS INCOME SOURCE CODES
DISCUSSION:

Effective November 8, 2004, new FAMIS income source codes were added to the Income (FMX0) screen. The code, description, and when to use each income source code is included in the chart below.

Code Description  
AE Americorps – NCCC Enter this code when an individual is employed by Americorps in the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) program.
AM Americorps – not NCCC Enter this code when an individual is employed by Americorps in a program other than the NCCC program.
BP Sale of blood plasma Enter this code when an individual receives income from the sale of his/her own blood plasma.
CF Chaffee Foster Care to the EU Enter this code when the Chaffee Foster Care payment is made directly to the EU.
CH Chaffee Foster Care to a Third Party Enter this code when the Chaffee Foster Care payment is made to someone other than the EU for expenses billed to the EU.
CL Compensation in Lieu of Wages Enter this code when an individual receives compensation in lieu of wages, such as working for rent.
CN Child Nutrition Act of 1966 Enter this code when an individual receives a payment or services from the Child Nutrition Act of 1966, including, but not limited to, school breakfast and lunch programs; supplemental services to women, infants, and children; etc.
CV Crime Victim’s Fund Enter this code when an individual receives a payment from the Crime Victim’s Fund.
EH Experimental Housing Allowance Enter this code when an individual receives housing allowance payments through the Experimental Housing Allowance program.
GE German Reparation Payments Enter this code when an individual receives a German reparation payment.
IK Income in Kind/Diverted Income Enter this code when an individual receives income in kind, or the individual’s income is diverted to a third party. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, meals, clothing, public housing, produce from a garden, etc.
OA Older Americans Act of 1965 Enter this code when an individual receives a payment or services from the Older Americans Act of 1965, including, but not limited to, the National Family Caregiver Support Program, in-home services for frail elders, and those services which protect the rights of older persons such as the long term care ombudsman program.
SP Children of Vietnam Vets with Spina Bifida Enter this code when an individual receives a payment for children of Vietnam veterans who have spina bifida.
SU Subsidized Employment – Block Grant Funded Enter this code when an individual is employed through subsidized employment and the funds used to pay the wages are TANF block grant funds.
VC Vet’s Education Assist (CC Compensation) Enter this code for Veteran’s Education Assistance (commonly known as the GI Bill) if it is used for child care compensation. If the payment is not for child care compensation, use code VE.
VF Voc Rehab Payments (Child Care Compensation) Enter this code for Vocational Rehabilitation payments if it is used for child care compensation. If the payment is not for child care compensation, use code VR.
YB Youthbuild Program Payments Enter this code when an individual is employed through the Youthbuild Program.

FAMIS knows when to include or exclude the income based on the income source and program type.
