MEMORANDUM
2004 Memorandums
IM-15      02/27/04
SUBJECT:
AUTOMATED UPDATE OF ADDRESS CHANGES TAKEN BY DIVISION OF MEDICAL SERVICES (DMS)
DISCUSSION:
Effective March 1, 2004 change of addresses reported directly by recipients to DMS Recipient Services Unit (RSU) or the managed care enrollment contractor will automatically be updated in the IMU5 system by Information Services & Technology Division (ISTD).   All income maintenance cases in Legacy in which the individual is active or included will be updated to reflect the new address.  An email message will be generated to the caseworker on file with a copy to the supervisor.  Staff is responsible for updating Food Stamp addresses in the FAMIS system and for any other follow-up needed.

An IMU5 turn around will not be generated for this transaction but the IMU5 system will reflect case action 35A.

This automatic process will not apply to if the new address is:

  • an out-of-state address, or
  • all assistance group members didn’t move to the new address.
RSU and the enrollment contractor will question if all household members moved.  If not, the information will be forwarded to the caseworker on file for appropriate action.  Out-of-state addresses will not be entered into the IMU5 system by ISTD.  This information will also be forwarded to the caseworker to take appropriate action.

NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
