SUBJECT: |
TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE CONVERSION INTO FAMIS RELATIONSHIP ISSUES |
DISCUSSION: |
This memorandum is the second in the series of memorandums to assist
staff in preparation for automated conversion of Temporary Assistance cases
into FAMIS. It will focus on relationship issues.
Currently in FAMIS the relationships of household members are captured on the RELINFO (FM0F) screen. This relationship eligibility criteria is extremely important in the Temporary Assistance Program. Because of this fact the relationships in FAMIS must be reviewed. It will be necessary for staff to review the relationships of family members in FAMIS whenever there is a corresponding Temporary Assistance case in Legacy. If staff do not review the relationships and the relationships are not valid according to 0205.025.00 Relationship Of Payee To Child when the case is converted to FAMIS it will fail and send an FA-510 Adverse Action Notice to either reduce the benefits or to discontinue them. FAMIS has been programmed to fail relationships that do not meet Temporary Assistance criteria. EXAMPLE #1
EXAMPLE #2
Staff will need to begin reviewing these relationships in FAMIS whenever the Food Stamp case is recertifying, the Temporary Assistance case is due for a reinvestigation, or whenever there are any interim changes in the case. |
