REVISED TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE AND MEDICAID EVACUEE POLICY FOR HURRICANE RITA
DISCUSSION:
Hurricane Rita evacuees are no longer subject to policy implemented for Hurricane Katrina evacuees. Hurricane Rita Temporary Assistance and Medicaid applicants are to be processed following normal Temporary Assistance and Medicaid policy and procedures.
Continue to use living arrangement code NR to identify Hurricane Rita evacuees in FAMIS. County offices must maintain a manual log of Hurricane Rita applicant payees' name, DCN and type of assistance requested. This is to be kept in the event information is needed for future reference or reporting purposes.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Follow normal Temporary Assistance and Medicaid policy for Hurricane Rita evacuees.
- Review this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
