DISCUSSION:
The new “Citizenship and ID Verification Pending Over 90 Days” report was mailed to county offices on October 3, 2006. Effective November 2006, the reports will be available through MOBIUS on the first day of the month. The report lists information for individuals whose documentation of citizenship/identity is still pending after 90 days. Review the report as soon as possible for your caseload and take necessary action promptly. Take one of the following actions upon reviewing the report:
- If the individual has provided documentation of both citizenship/identity, ensure that a “Y” (citizenship/identity verified code) has been entered in field 13H1 of IMU5.
- If the individual has not yet provided documentation of citizenship/identity, but is making a good faith effort to obtain proof of citizenship/identity, take no action at this time. Document this information on the report and file it in the case record.
- If the individual has not yet provided documentation of citizenship/identity, and they are not making a good faith effort to obtain documentation, take appropriate action to discontinue Medicaid benefits.
Individuals will continue to display on this report until the pending code has been updated to “Y” or “N.”
