INCOME AND RESOURCES CODES FOR PLAN FOR ACHIEVING SELF-SUPPORT (PASS) MONIES
DISCUSSION:
Blind or disabled SSI recipients may have a plan in writing and approved by the Social Security Administration to set aside money for a work goal. This is a Plan For Achieving Self Support (PASS). Income and resources from a PASS account are excluded when determining eligibility for Temporary Assistance, the Food Stamp Program and the Child Care Program.
The following codes have been added to FAMIS:
INCOME TYPE: UI (Unearned)
INCOME SOURCE: PA (Plan for Achieving Self-Support)
RESOURCE CLASS: LR (Liquid Resource)
RESOURCE TYPE: PA (Plan for Achieving Self-Support).
Effective immediately, use these codes to enter income and resources from a PASS account in FAMIS. The monies should be coded accessible and available. FAMIS will exclude the income and resources and display the decision on the detail screen.

NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
- Use the above codes to enter income and resources from a PASS account in FAMIS.
