| SUBJECT: | Missouri Medicaid Changed to MO HealthNet |
DISCUSSION:
The 2007 legislative session ended with the passage of Senate Bill 577, the Missouri Health Improvement act of 2007. Among its many provisions, Senate Bill 577 changes the name of Missouri Medicaid to MO HealthNet. Effective September 1, 2007 the Department of Social Services, Division of Medical Services, will change its name to the MO HealthNet Division. The bill also re-names recipients as participants.
Effective September 1, 2007, the DMS website address will change to www.dss.mo.gov/mhd. All other contact information such as mailing and street addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses remain the same.
Income Maintenance and Child Support policy staff are in the process of identifying and changing any references to the Division of Medical Services in any Family Support Division material, such as references on the agency website, in correspondence, or brochures, to the MO HealthNet Division (formerly known as the Division of Medical Services). Policy will also begin changing references to Medicaid benefits to MO HealthNet benefits.
