DISCUSSION:
Effective January 7, 2008, MO HealthNet Division will begin issuing new medical cards to new participants and participants who request a replacement card because their current card is damaged, lost, or stolen. The new card is white and reflects the MO HealthNet name change and logo.
New approvals will receive the new white MO HealthNet card. New approvals in managed care counties will receive the new white MO HealthNet card as well as a card from their managed care provider. The current red plastic cards are not being mass replaced by the new white card. They will be replaced as requested when reported damaged, lost or stolen.
Some members of a family may have red cards, while others will be issued white ones.
They should continue to utilize the medical card that is issued to them. It is not necessary to replace the red cards, as there is no change in the benefits the participant is currently eligible for and receiving. Do not replace cards unless the card is damaged, lost, or stolen.
NECESSARY ACTION:
- Review this memorandum with all appropriate staff.
- New white MO HealthNet cards will be issued Jan. 7, 2008, for new approvals.
- Red cards are to be replaced as requested when damaged, lost or stolen.
