CHILD WELFARE MANUAL

Section 6, Chapter 19 (Background Checks), Subsection 4, – (Case.Net)

6.19.4  Missouri Public Court Records (Case.Net)

The resource licensing worker shall check Case.net, the Missouri State Courts Automated Case Management System, for the applicant’s legal history, including any reference to Orders of Protection filed, either on behalf of a child or an adult.  At this time public view does not include identifiers such as social security and birth dates; so, it may be difficult to determine whether the applicant or household member is the individual found on Case.net or another person with the same name.  The resource licensing worker shall run searches of the applicant or household member’s prior names (maiden names, prior nicknames, etc.) as well as their present name.

If information on an applicant is found on Case.net, the resource licensing worker shall print the page with the information. If the date that the page is printed is not included on the print result, the worker should write the date on the printed copy to verify when the check was performed. The worker should enter the date that the Case.net search was performed in FACES.
