ABAWDS who have regained SNAP eligibility are eligible to receive an additional 3 consecutive months of SNAP benefits if they stop meeting the work requirement.

The 3 additional, countable months start once the ABAWD who regained eligibility is no longer complying with the ABAWD requirements or at reapplication for an ABAWD who had received benefits after regaining eligibility but otherwise closed. These additional countable months can only be given once in any 3 year period.

If the otherwise eligible ABAWD once again meets the Training/Work requirement each month, they are eligible to continue receiving SNAP benefits following the additional 3 month period. If the participant does not meet the ABAWD work requirements again, they will no longer eligible and cannot regain eligibility until they comply with the work/training requirement as they have used their additional 3 months.
