1125.010.00 Expedited Service Criteria

Households making an initial application (see 1100.010.00 Definitions) or non-timely recertification received within 30 days past the previous certification) who are eligible for SNAP and meet any one of the expedited criteria are qualified for expedited service:

  • Households, including those considered categorically eligible, whose countable monthly gross income— minus court-ordered child support paid— is less than $150 AND liquid resources are not exceeding $100 (i.e., cash on hand, checking or savings accounts, savings certificates, and lump sum payments)
  • Households with a combined countable monthly gross income— minus court-ordered child support paid— and liquid resources that is less than monthly shelter costs; or
  • destitute migrant or seasonal farm worker households (see 1115.050.05 Destitute Migrant/Seasonal Farm Worker Household), provided liquid resources do not exceed $100

NOTE: Households other than migrant or seasonal farm worker households cannot be classified as destitute.

Unless the interview is waived, the interview must be completed within 6 days after the application date to be expedited.  If an interview is required, but not completed within 6 days after application date, the normal 30-day processing timeframe is followed.
