The certification period is assigned at approval of the expedited benefits.
No limit exists to the number of times an EU can be certified under expedited procedures. However, prior to each expedited certification, the EU either completes the verification requirements and/or interview postponed at the last expedited certification or has an interim certification under normal certification procedures.
EXAMPLE: An EU is certified under the expedited procedures in February. To be qualified for expedited service in March; it must provide February’s verification or be certified under normal standards. If the EU applies and qualifies for expedited service again, it can either provide February’s verification, or show that it had been certified under normal certification procedures in the interim. If neither occurred, do not provide the EU expedited service and certify under normal certification procedures. If the EU provides the February verification that was postponed, expedited processing time standards begin at the time verification is received.
