Temporary Assistance/Case Management Manual

0205.075.15.20 Active in Children’s Division

IM-70 July 8, 2015; IM-24 April 22, 2011; IM-23 April 2, 2010

An extension may be approved for a family who has an active case with the Children’s Division in Family Centered Services or Alternative Care. The family must be actively working with and cooperating with the Children’s Division treatment plan and the Missouri Work Assistance (MWA) program Individual Employment Plan (IEP). This extension cannot be used solely because there is an open case in both systems. Children’s Division and Missouri Work Assistance (MWA) program staff need to support a cooperative effort in order to benefit and protect the family unit.

Eligibility specialists must check the FACESINQ screen to verify if the child is in Children’s Division custody or in Alternative Care.

The extension, if one is approved, should be re-evaluated within 90 days. Eligibility specialists must create a reminder on the Alert/Reminder List (ALREMIND/FM7M) screen to re-evaluate the extension reason.

For information on how to enter an extension reason, refer to the TA Work Requirement: Hardship Extension User Guide.
