| A Preliminary Injunction has been issued
prohibiting the Division of Medical Services (DMS) from implementing the
planned reductions in covered dental services for Medicaid/MC+. Dental
coverage for adults (Individuals age 21 or over) was restored effective
August 21, 2002. Coverage will be on a fee-for-service basis only.
Effective September 3, 2002 DMS began mailing notices (copy attached) to recipients advising of the change. Refer inquiries concerning covered services or a list of Medicaid/MC+ dentists to the Recipient Services Unit at 1-800-392-2161. Reductions in coverage for vision care and over-the-counter medications referenced in Memorandum IM-76 dated June 21, 2002 are not affected by this decision. |
