DISCUSSION:
The Missouri Certified and Licensed Real Estate Appraisers Act requires that only certified or licensed appraisers be used for paid real property appraisals.  Effective immediately, when using either the form IM-43, "Request for Property Appraisal" or the form IM-43A, "Request for Appraisal of an Undivided Interest in Property" for appraisals of property in Missouri, a Certified or Licensed Appraiser must be used.

To locate or verify Certified or Licensed appraisers, you can use an Internet web site provided by the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission.  The web address is www.ecodev.state.mo.us/pr/rea.  If the Internet is not available, call 573-751-0038 for Certified and Licensed Real Estate Appraisers in your area.
NECESSARY ACTION:
  • Review this memorandum with appropriate staff.
  • Follow the procedures discussed in this memorandum when contacting appraisers.
