DISCUSSION:
The Temporary Assistance Manual has been updated to include policy concerning the sixty (60) month lifetime limit. These policies were originally issued in memorandums IM-83 dated July 3, 2002 and IM-46 dated May 18, 2004. These revisions cover the following:
  • Tracking the sixty (60) month lifetime limit;
  • Exemptions from the sixty (60) month lifetime limit;
  • Extensions for hardship from the sixty (60) month lifetime limit;
  • Evaluation process for the sixty (60) month lifetime limit;
  • Application process after the sixty (60) month lifetime limit has been reached; and
  • Case management during an extension for hardship due to the sixty (60) month lifetime limit.
NOTE: The extension entitled “Team Conclusion” is now referred to as “Special Circumstances.
